The Sierra Mentoring Partnership is dedicated to creating a culture of mentoring in the Nevada County region.  We've complied a variety of tools and resources for family, community and mentors.  Simply click on the links below to get where you'd like to go.  We hope you find what you are looking for here, but please contact us if you would like special assistance or reading materials. 

For Mentors

  • Tools for Mentoring Adolescents, a resource developed by the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota in collaboration with the Search Institute to support and strengthen relationships between mentors and mentees.
  • Mentoring Central's Mentor Training Courses, a new web based training by Dr.'s Jean Rhodes and Janis Kuperschmidt.  Financial aid may be available, call us! 
  • Building Relationships, A Guide for New Mentors, is a great supplement to mentor training, offering ten simple tips to relationship development
  • MENTOR, the national mentoring organization offers a wealth of research and articles about mentoring and its positive effects for youth.

For Parents and Guardians

  • Parent Handbook of Mentoring SMP created this guide for parents to learn more about mentoring, help them decide whether mentoring might be helpful to their child, and find out how to connect their child to a mentoring program.
